Get to Know ONCO: Dianne M Cleveland, RHIA, CTR, Implementation and Client Support Specialist

What is your Current Role at ONCO?

My title is Implementation and Client Support Specialist. I assist new customers with the conversion of their data from another software to ONCOLog. I provide their initial training on all of the ONCOLog modules and attend the conversion meetings weekly, even after their “go live”. I serve as a client advocate and liaison between the registrar and the conversion team. I have worked for ONCO a total of 10 ½ years, and everyone at the company is more like family than coworkers.

What were your previous roles and experiences?

I have been in the registry field for decades (I am not telling you how old I am!) and have worked in community and large registries. I am a former CoC-trained Consultant and Past-President of NCRA. I volunteered for NCRA for over 15 years, and I was honored to receive the Distinguished Member Award. I also volunteered with my State Registry and Local HIM associations.

How did you get into this industry?

Before graduating with a BS and receiving my RHIA, I attended a community college and became an RHIT (back then it was called ART). One of my clinical rotations was working in the Cancer Registry. I found ICD coding monotonous, but with the registry, there were a variety of tasks. It was also a start-up registry and with my creative personality, I found this fun to build from the ground up.

Why did you choose ONCO?

I love working with software and databases. I have worked with almost every system available, and ONCOLog is the best software product out there. I already knew most of the people at ONCO and knew I would enjoy my job. The company truly values their employees and recognizes when we work hard.

What is your favorite feature of ONCOLog?

I appreciate the fact that reports are easy and can be run on ANY data item in ONCOLog. But my favorite feature is that each customer can customize the software to meet their own needs with unlimited custom data items. Also, ONCOLog encourages consistent information collection by using combo/drop-down menus or lookup fields to a variety of tables instead of text fields.

On a personal note, what is your favorite hobby?

Before COVID, I traveled quite a bit. I still have some destinations on my bucket list, but I would love to go back to Hawaii. During COVID, I began crocheting again, and I am on a mission to make an Afghan for each grandchild and grandniece/nephew. Because I love to eat, I also like to cook. My chicken spaghetti is pretty famous.
